1. Create Your Free Account
First, truckers need to register a free e-file account on Truck2290. Existing customers, who are not required to create an account, can access their accounts using their login information. So, truckers need to submit their basic details to create an account.
2. Enter E-file IRS Form 2290 Business Details
Truckers are required to provide basic information, such as Business Name & Address, Employee Identification Number (EIN), Vehicle Identification Number (VIN), Taxable Gross Weight of Vehicle, and First Month of Vehicle.
3. Payment Options to Pay 2290 Tax
Truckers must select one of the payment options listed below after completing their basic information to pay their Heavy Vehicle Use Tax (HVUT) and federal taxes.
Electronic Funds Withdrawal (EFW): Electronic funds withdrawal is the fastest and easiest way to pay federal or road taxes. By using this method, truckers can pay their taxes directly. Consequently, they must input the routing number or registered bank account number.
Credit Card or Debit Card: Truckers can use a credit or debit card to pay the IRS truck 2290 tax. While paying taxes using this method, you must include your CVV number, card expiry date, card number, and your name as per card.
